March and April with Family

Our three grandsons came to stay for a few days during the school break in March and we had a blast!  Three very active young men, Matthew age 5, his brother Ben age 7 and Sean, 8 years old.  Grandpa had a plan and those of you who know Bob well,  understand that when Bob has a plan, nothing keeps him from marking the "full day activities" box on his To do list from being ticked.  Full days included skating, ball hockey and swimming.  Bob discovered that the Agincourt Community Centre has both skating and swimming and we were delighted to discover that the Maple Leaf Organization had sponsored a free skate for the week.  They also had representatives there the first day we were there and gave autographed pucks, tattoo sleeves and collector cards to each child on the ice.  Correctly answered questions brought more prizes and Ben won a water bottle and towel while Sean (who always cheers against the Leafs to bug his dad) won an autographed Maple Leaf jersey.

Sadly, we forgot to take the camera to the pool and settled on the boys standing outside the window to the pool as our photo reminder of the fun time we had.

A week later, Sean played in his usual position of goalie in his final hockey tournament and not only did his team win, Sean was awarded MVP. Way to go Sean!!!
Our hero!!
We celebrated March birthdays (Bob and Jenn) and April birthdays (Steve, Marcin and me) yesterday with dinner at ours.  The house was rocking as usual and we had an Easter egg hunt, Great Grandma brought lots of chocolate and we managed to send the kids home (as usual) out of their minds with hyper-activity.  We figure it might take until next weekend to bring them down.....it's called "Grandpa and Grandma's Revenge".

The house was staged and two weeks later, following two weekend open houses and a week of showings, all of Bob's very hard work paid off.  It sold in under two hours with five couples bidding and although Bob could have kept the bidding process going for several rounds, we felt it far more humane to allow everyone a second bid then close it down.  It was also the advice of our lovely agent and he told us after the sale that everyone walked away from the experience in a positive (albeit disappointed) mood.  The new owners asked for a 2 week close and as I write this, are preparing the house for their move.  They are from White Rock, B.C. and have two daughters, 8 and 12 years.  Haven't met them yet and are looking forward to doing so before we go boating.

Our stager, Jennifer Barlow-Reid did a great job of decorating and she gave us several items to remember her by.  Watch for her new show on the "W" network, starting in June.  Following are photo's of the work she did for us.
