What a day we had!
Darla was off to yoga at 6:30 this morning and Bob and I were up immediately following her departure, mainly because the sound of her 1984 Samurai (that's a truck, not a sword-swinging Japanese warrior) leaping to life at sound barrier levels, brought us to immediate consciousness and fumbling for our nitro (kidding).
By 8:30 a.m. the warrior princess had returned from her meditations and after a healthy breakfast, we drove to Thetis Lake for a 5 km hike over hill and dale. What a beautiful day! Gorgeous sunshine and temps around 10C. We felt so healthy following the hike that we decided we deserved a pub lunch ....so off we went to downtown Victoria and a great restaurant/pub. The huge lunch was accompanied by a couple of pints so all that was accomplished in the morning kind of got lost....sooooo, we decided that we would spend the afternoon hiking! Guilt is such a remarkable thing. This time we hiked beside the ocean. It was beautiful.
Darla, Bob and I are spending our last few hours together, gabbing and having a laugh by candlelight.
Tomorrow morning we are off bright and early to the airport to begin the second stage of our journey. Look out New Zealand, the crazy Canucks are on the move!~
Love and peace.
Sharon
