Manitoba....goodbye

As mentioned in the earlier blog....we boon-docked at a Walmart in Brandon.  Hard to believe that many people do this every day.  We love campsites and parks however once again, we are reminded that everyone is different.  Bob asked the Walmart manager if it was ok to park for the night, she told him where we should park and we were the first to do so.  Shortly after, two B-class vans (smaller than ours) arrived and parked a couple of rows in front of us.  By morning, there were around 15 large 5th wheels or camper vans parked in our general area.  It was hilarious!

Heading into downtown Winnipeg, we see the
river filled with fishermen, in boats and in waders

Double-take moment....I would have sworn
he didn't trek this far

Lots of great restaurants to choose from, however this one
captivated us with the description of the owners (chef Alan and
his wife Verna).  We made a great choice!

Verna's relatives owned bars from Vancouver
to Edmonton.  Verna and Alan opened this one
and included all the memorabilia from the rele's;
15 years of collecting.  Old autographed photo's of
Martha Raye and Caesar Romero can be seen here.
Also, photo's of current stars, singers and dignitaries

Verna and Bob.  You hear her wonderful laugh before you
see her.  When Bob called for reservations and asked
if there was a dress code, she laughed and said..."yes, you
have to wear clothes".  We had so much fun with her.

Famous street signs

Aptly named campground.  Wild turkeys and
other great birds
