Buenos Aires, Argentina

This city is not only beautiful, it feels very safe. We haven't felt threatened at all throughout our travels (there have been Caribbean islands where we've felt more threatened!) however this city is a favourite among us, along with Lima, Peru.

We arrived at 6 pm and that gave us time to get settled then head down to the portlands for an amazing dinner by the water. This city is filled with great restaurants and fun districts that are cultural and colourful. The food is everything anyone could wish for....from Argentinian beef to fresh home made pasta. We figure we'll have gained about 20 pounds by the end of the month, since we can't seem to resist the great grub!

Below: Some districts visited last night at the docks and today on the city tour
Yes, that is Evita!
The tulip sculpture below has hydraulics that open it in the day and close it at night.
Below: Not certain we'd pick this hotel...
Had dinner and a tango show at one of the oldest theatres in town. Tango was started by poor immigrants in their ghettos and the dance was forbidden by the upper classes, although they secretly knew how to dance the tango. Fantastic performances. I'm thinking that Bob and I should take it up but have some hesitation after watching the show. No doubt one or both of us would be knocked out...if we could get our legs that high.

Off to visit glaciers in a couple of hours.

Love and light.
